@Kim Thank you so much for reply. additionally, he doesn’t like loud noises. When another kid is shouting, he will get irritable or scared or cry. and i think you are right in that he does seem to have some sensory disorder
My 4 year old is the same. Are you having him evaluated? We are going to have a neuropsych evaluation
@Emma i haven’t talked to any professional about it yet but i know i need to have him evaluated. will speak to health visitor first
Waiting lists for NHS assessments are very long! My son is 9 and is on the waiting list. It is a 2 year wait in our area! If you do want to get the process going, I would start sooner rather than later!
Hey! This does sound like it could be related to sensory processing, particularly as a hypersensitive seeker. Sensory processing challenges are often linked to ASD or ADHD, though they can also be present alongside other additional needs. My little boy does the same—he shows clear traits of ADHD, and his dad has ADHD too. I’d recommend looking into sensory processing disorders for sensory seekers and exploring calming techniques that might help before it happens. For my son, it’s usually out of excitement, especially when he’s playing with other kids, and he never means any harm. I also think that nowadays, people can sometimes misinterpret these behaviours instead of seeing them for what they really are—just a different way of engaging with others. I hope this helps a little! You’re not alone in this.
