The most important thing is making sure they have methylated folate (not folic acid). If you feel like you have a well balanced and healthy diet then you may not need them but I personally feel better taking them.
You don't actually need a prenatal vitamin but you should always take a folic acid/folate supplement during pregnancy. It's not a bad idea to take prenatals tho if you're not sure about your overall nutrition, I think they have calcium and such too. A doctor once told me that all prenatals are the same and the ones I checked had the exact same ingredients. I was taking the Kirkland brand until my Costco stopped stocking it then switched to Materna and it was so much better cuz they have a pleasant coating on it instead of it smelling like rabbit food
I did pregnancy tea instead of prenatals and it was a lot cheaper in the long run. It’s called N.O.R.A. Tea and you can get the ingredients at a local health store or online. They felt 100x better switching from prenatals to Tea and gave birth to a full term healthy 8lb baby. Hope you find something that works for you 🤗
I took and still take the target brand prenatals. Baby and I are healthy according to our doctors. Never heard that the cheap ones are bad. The ingredients were the same when I checked
Prenatals are the same as a multivitamin. Look at the ingredients they don’t make much of a difference based on price but you should take them!
