Labour Anxiety

Hi Mums, I am almost 37 weeks pregnant and my pregnancy is coming to an end. I am a first time mum. I am so thrilled to meet my baby boy but quite worried about the labour and delivery.I am epileptic and experienced a loss of my auntie after 11 days her baby boy was born due to pulmonary embolism. This happened long time ago after she had four c-sections. I am very aware my situation is different then hers but when she passed away she had the same age as mine. She also lost her baby girl previuosly because the ombelic cord strangled her.Sorry to distress all of you with my sad story but I am looking only for some support here! Atm I can't think anything else, although I am having also some CBT therapy to go with... Hope your day is going well. Happy Friday!!! Thanks again:) Francesca

I am so sorry you had those experiences! All I can say is that when these fears arise in me I look around at all the healthy humans walking around. All of them were born (and a lot have been through childbirth) - this makes me feel better

Hello dear Francesca! Are you having c section ? I think planned c section is much better then natural birth, I have some conditions and was so panicking about natural birth and at the end choose c section, it was a good experience xx

Hi Nastia,I have decided for an epidural because I know from doctors and other mums when you have c-section it will take a while to recover so I want to be there for my baby:)

@Frá it makes sense also....are you having induction ?

Fra, all mums worry about labour whether it's your first or second, third, etc, but I agree going natural as poss if you can as you can heal quicker. Everyone has their own birth story, you just have to embrace yours, whatever happens. If a c section or an epidural means you and baby are healthy then you do what you have to xx

@Nastia no really,at least they didn't say this yet!!!

@Frá anyway wishing you good luck xx
