Birth Control

Okay ladies, what birth control did you get on pp? I am trying to get on one with the least amount of side effects as possible. I am leaning towards the oura ring and natural cycles but wanted to see what everyone is doing. Help.

I know it’s different for everyone but my experience with BC , first I was one the Depo for 3 years I did have issues to the point I had to see a cardiologist so I got of it. Then I went on the implant that one did work for me but depo messed up my body and I didn’t allow my body to be normal so starting the implant it still caused me not to have a period. Then I got on the patch which was my favorite method I had regular periods and it didn’t cause any major side effects just soreness here and there. Then about a year before I got pregnant I stopped birth control and started using the Flo app to track. I practiced safe sex before and during ovulation. The one time I forgot to check my app and went on vacation let’s say month later there was a positive. Currently right now I’m using condums as a form of birth control and also my app since I did have my first period after birth.

I was on the pill for many years. Main side effect was worsening anxiety but other than that it was fine. I got bariatric surgery so I had to go off bc completely so I was also using the flo app to track. It was working fine for a good 9 months and then I forgot to check it daily and then 9 months later baby was born lol. Now pp I got the IUD. So far just mild bleeding. It looks like a light period but nothing major. Talk to your doctor about the best option for you. I also heard if you’re bf your options are different

I had the nexplanon after my first pregnancy and didn’t know a whole lot of side affect other than not having a period for the time I was on it. I am back with nexplanon

i’ve had really good luck with the iud in the past but am now trying out the mini pill which i also like so far

i tend not to do well on BC’s that are high in estrogen. i’m talking CRAZY woman on top of weight gain and other issues. so i have always done nexplanon which is mostly progesterone. it’s safe for breastfeeding which is a plus if that’s something you need to consider too. i never had any side effects except longer time between periods! its nice not to have to take a pill as well. and i was on it before this pregnancy. took it out to try and conceive and was successful almost immediately, so theres no adjustment period /waiting time when it comes to that!

I was on the IUD (Mirena) for many years and getting back on it this coming Monday.
