Has he gone to MEPs yet? He can definitely tell his recruiter his desired ship date and they can work around it. When I was joining I had them wait till after I graduated college. When my husband joined he said asap and it still took them 4 months (starting from his first convo with a recruiter) to ship him out due to his MOS. There’s delayed shipment programs also. Just need to tell his recruiter what’s going on.
Literally same! Mine had started the process back in early Nov and they’re still jerking him around. He had to tell the recruiter a couple days ago that if he’s not on a plane to boot by mid march, then he’s either gonna opt to try again once baby is 6mo ish or he’s just gonna pull back altogether because he doesn’t want to miss her getting here
@Madeleine yes they said if he joins asap he can get like a 10k bonus but that would mean he would miss the birth
@Madeleine i also know that AIT is gonna take a while too so we don’t know if he should take it the opportunity or not. he doesn’t have a job right now and we’re living with my mom so it’s just been difficult
@kailey im going through the same thing im due in may and we have no money and he already went to meps im always here to talk we dont know what to do exactly
My husband is in the military really not worth going through all that and I mean if it’s first child they can come back in see the baby born but they would have to leave right after tho
He can always start the process of joining and wait til you give birth so he can start boot camp
