Cradle cap

Any recommendations on how I can get rid of stubborn cradle cap on my little on head? He has it on the top of his head currently all in his hair and over his soft spot but it seems anything I try just doesn’t work!

Coconut oil helped my baby. I was put it on the head 15 /30 min before bath time, then with a soft brush they were coming off and then ready to bath and clean away the oil. I did this every time I was bathing her around twice a week. Now it’s completely gone

Lice comb

Thank you!! I’ll try both of these 🩵

Baby oil, let it sit 10-20 minutes before bath and then wash out, or I’ve used breastmilk baths and they helped my girl!

@Sami I’ll see what oil works better as I’m not bf so won’t be able to do him baths xx

I second baby oil. Rub on before bath time and then wash away in bath. It definitely helps loosen it and it will naturally break away. I did it a few times a week for 1-2 weeks and it completely went. It also hasn’t came back. X

@Emma sounds great, just keep an eye out with coconut oil sometimes they have an allergy to that one, I’d recommend a small test spot on his arm before you try it!

I covered the cradle cap in coconut oil 15mins before a bath and then would use a cradle cap brush in the bath on the oil and then use shampoo. After the bath I smothered the cradle cap in cetraben cream and it cleared it up within 3 days!

I would be careful using things like lice combs and brushing out the cradle cap if it’s not coming off easily as it could end up irritating their scalp and it could also make their hair come out patchy! I used coconut oil and washed my baby’s hair. Some bits came out naturally but the bits that stayed I left and until it came off by itself xx

Dentinox cable cap shampoo

Are you breast feeding? If so breast milks great. I find the days I don't have any spare and she has a bath it starts to come back. But goes away when I've used my milk in the water

Dermafreda do a cradle cap comb and sponge set that works really well! I used baby oil in the bath on the hair, let it soak for 5 misns then the comb is almost like a nit comb, that combs out the bit clumps of cradle cap as it becomes soft. My little boy kept getting it back, spoke with a few people and seems it could be due to the sulphates in the shampoo causing build up. Which we’ve now cut out so fingers crossed it doesn’t come back! But highly recommend the dermafreda worked a charm! X

@Hannah this is amazing and worth the money, it cleared my LB head after two uses

Vasaline works really well, put it all through the hair, leave it on for as long as possible and wash it out
