Baby growth

Hi ladies ☺️ I had a growth scan earlier on this week (36+5) and baby boy was weighing approximately 7lbs 7oz. I have a c section booked in for 21st which gives him two more weeks of growing to do. Isn’t this when babies tend to put the most on? Has anyone had other experiences I can relate to? I’m thinking I’ll have a 10 pounder on my hands at 39 weeks 🥹❤️

Babies gain 7oz a week on average in the last few weeks, i believe, but remember scans are estimated and can get it very wrong. My friend was told baby would weigh 12lb and was a 6lb baby a week later at birth xx

I would take scan weights with a pinch of salt. I had my last scan 48 hours before I gave birth and there was almost a pound difference between what they said and baby’s actual weight!

I had a growth scan at 35+5 told me he was 7lbs 2oz and he was gonna be very big, i gave birth to him at 39+6 and he was 7lbs 15oz so i don’t believe growth scan are very accurate xx

There is about a 20% variation over and under weight, the scans arent super accurate. I was induced at 38+4 as they said baby would be off the centile chart and she was 9lbs4oz which was 75th for weight I think!

My daughter was 6lbs3 at my 38 week growth scan, she came 9 days later at 6lbs6
