Toilet training help

Today I set up a seat and attached step for the toilet. Little one is speech delayed. We did try in the summer Im but she just wasn’t ready. I have read lots of potty books, porgy songs (shown the Bing, Duggee cocomenlon super simple potty songs). Today had some nappy free time she sat on the new seat lots. Put her dolly on the seat (well more or less dunked her in the loo 😆) I showed her the potty songs on my phone made a big song and dance. She was sat there and only went and had a wee whilst watching bing sing some ridiculous song 😆. So what now! She didn’t take herself there because she needed to go, she just happened to be there. What do I do now lol I was going to start in a couple of weeks. But do I get going now?

Take her to the toilet every so often, or when you go, she probably won't know the feeling of needing to go yet, but she will get there. Lots of praise for going sitting on the toilet and even more for doing something on the toilet, leave the nappies off and if she does have an accident just explain wee goes in the toilet best of luck x

@Kath thank you. I’m so pleased I got this new seat! I have four different potties and although she would sit on them, it was only a quick sit and up. So very proud of her! It’s hard to know when she goes quite a while without weeing, I have also seen it suggested to put a liner in the nappy so she feels wet whimsy building up to ditching the nappies. I might do that this week, I’m off work and pre school closed the following week so seems the best time to really go for it maybe! Who knows! We will see how it goes tomorrow :)

Small Accident this morning. Didn’t see more when I popped her on the toilet Seems to be holding it in I am sure. We will keep trying :)
