NHS GP Question.

So if I ring up for an appointment at my GP about my periods not being right will they take me seriously and bring me in for tests? So basically I was tracking my period and I bled for 12 days then I stopped bleeding for 2 days and then I'm bleeding again. I want to blame my contraception (the pill) for this issue and maybe that is the issue but I just can't handle it anymore. I've been like this for years to be honest I've just put up with it but I'm honestly getting sick of wearing sanitary towels and changing them everytime I use the toilet. So if I ring up will they bring me in for tests? What tests will they actually give me? I just want to get to the bottom of it

It has to be taken seriously, as your iron levels etc will be getting affected. So they do need to investigate. Just don’t allow admin to tell you their opinion as you didn’t call for them. I have to report the admin at my GP because she decided to triage me herself incorrectly documented my issue and signposted it to the wrong department. Recorded rectal bleeding and signposted the issue to an eye clinic 🙃

Yes, ask for an ultrasound, my GP sent me for one before my pregnancy, as I was struggling with heavy periods and developed anaemia. Then I was sent to a gynaecologist. I was diagnosed with abnormal bleeding and now I know how to manage it, so I don’t get to a point where I require a blood transfusion. You deserve answers. Best of luck.

I'd honestly give your body a break from contraception for a while and let your body drop into its natural cycle

Hi, I work in drs surgery.. they will bring u in for bloodwork to be done and ultrasound x

I just hope I can get to the bottom of it. I'm bleeding very heavy today and have my trusty hot water belt

You probably need to stop contraception first so you get a true idea.
I had bleeding like this after my second for months, did get an ultrasound but also calmed down after about 12 months

I was considering stopping my contraception but I don't want to risk getting pregnant at all, and I know he can wrap it up but we haven't used condoms for 10 years.... So it'll be an awkward subject to bring up

I would get off the bc completely and ask for a full hormone and thyroid panel. A GP may not be the best one to do that. Sounds like the pill isn’t right for you.

Avatar

@Rhiannon it'd no big deal for him to wrap it, especially when you're going through this at the moment! Your body needs a reset, so I'd highly recommend you stop the pill

I tried ringing them for an appointment... And they've told me there's no appointments for the foreseeable future and I need to ring back up at 8:30am for appointments that come out. So more than likely I'm not gonna get one as well I think we all know what happens with the NHS you ring up and no more appointments available. Idk what to do, can I call 111?

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭

Please be nice as I have anxiety…

So I’m 20 weeks pregnant and I went to the hospital for light bleeding when I wipe ( not ever time though).. the doctor told me it was due to sex and that my cervix was irritated has anyone else experienced this? And or know way to just calm my anxiety from it

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

When to prepare?

I’m 34w1d with my second baby. Today at my midwife appointment she said baby is 2/5 engaged, I’ve packed my hospital bags but unsure when to start building baby’s crib. Installing car seat ect. When is everyone else doing these things?
