Itching

I don’t have perianal stitches but do have internal stitches and have also been experiencing this so following along to see if this is normal! xx

Best to get it checked in case there’s any signs of infection x

Yeah I was thinking of calling triage if it didn’t improve! The midwives checked my stitches Friday and said they looked ok.. but then yesterday they seemed to get more itchy and uncomfortable. Not sure if I had a bit of bleeding from them after going to the loo as well, just so hard to tell what’s going on down there 🫣.

This is me ! I went to triage they had a look and said I had a superficial tear, where a stitch came loose but it would heal from inside out. I got swabbed to test for any nasty business, still waiting for results and got given antibiotics... just in case.

Me too. Took one week to get swab results for infection. Get it checked 🙂

@Madeleine was yours an infection? I did have swabs 3 days after giving birth and they haven’t come back with anything but I was on precautionary antibiotics then! X

I was the same, I felt like it got worse before it got better! I had my stitches checked and they said they were healing well, but I did end up with an infection in the lining of my womb which caused heavy bleeding and bad stomach pains which probably didn’t help xx

I think I’ll go and get it checked incase. It’s so sharp and itchy!! I know it could be healing but don’t know why it’s got worse 🫣

@Alex yes, not conclusive but enough to put me on antibiotics. It's feelings better now but still very red! Hope you're feeling better xx
