Your Birthday

If your birthday is in November or December near Thanksgiving or Christmas how have you liked your birthday being near the holidays? If you have a child with a birthday around that time then you could answer as well what it's like to prepare for a birthday at this time. I've always said that I would want my child to have their own time of the year to have their birthday and not have to worry about the "holiday season" and have like combo gifts or have their birthday presents be wrapped in Christmas paper etc. I don't think it worked in January for me to have an October baby so I either wait until April to try for a January baby or I just decide that my child will be fine with a November or December birthday. Also my husband's birthday is November 14th and he doesn't really like his birthday at that time of year but because he teaches at a university and it's always a busy time of the year. Plus there's the whole starting school either kind of young or slightly older than the other kids...let me know!

my birthday is on december 21st and my mum always had a mission around christmas to make it known that my birthday would be separate from christmas but people will always try and give me combo gifts 😂 i hate my birthday nobody can ever get together around that time of year, nobody attends parties and it’s just a shit show 😩❤️ ( it’s also just a really expensive month i wouldn’t recommend it )

I’m a Dec 13th baby and I love it lol. My brothers are the 4th & 12th Dec and my uncle is the 23rd and we always do something for each of our birthdays, whether it’s just a night in at whoever’s house (mine/my mums/my aunties) or a meal out etc. We only buy our own partner’s and children at Xmas as we’re a very large family so it’s not an overly expensive month and if we get together, we all bring a plate so that it’s not costly each time on one specific person and we love getting together. We celebrate Xmas in our own bubbles/immediate families so our birthdays around it are a really nice day/evening to get together. My sister has a Jan baby and by then everyone does seem partied out but regardless of time of year, there’s always an event (Easter, valentines, pancake day, st Patrick’s, summer solstice, Halloween etc) so we just own our birthdays and have fun regardless. No matter what month, you’re always going to be younger or older than some peers in school, it’s just life. Xx

My niece is born 14th Dec- she rarely has a party because by then school is out and kids are on holidays, or kids start going interstate/overseas for Xmas, so if she wanted a good party she had to invite like, 3m in advance. She hates it, now 9. So bdays have been centred around family only with her 1-2 besties last year we went to a big water park for her bday and mainly family although “family” here is already 16 of us. (Me and my siblings and all our kids and partners equals 16)

I super appreciate all the input! Thanks ladies!

I’m a Christmas Eve baby and I love my birthday! No one ever forgets it, it’s a festive time of year so I feel people are always inclined to want to celebrate with me and I’ve actually never had the combo gift thing unless it was an especially large gift. My mum always made sure I had birthday parties as a child and my friends were always there!

My husband's bday is Nov 27... so usually within a few days of Thanksgiving (if not on it). He hated it growing up because it was often pushed TO Thanksgiving (if it wasn't on the day), so he kinda got robbed of his own day. As he got older, he changed his tune and enjoys it that way... because food, family, football, and hunting all on one day! My dad's is November 28th, and he's loves his days of feasting!

It's better than me, my SD, and our daughter's birthdays.... our daughter is May 17, mine is May 19, SD is May 21!! It's 5 days of insanity...
