Have you started teaching your children bodily autonomy

I’ve been teaching her this since young . Now she’s potty trained and when I try to wiper her butt for her it’s “ nooooo mommmy that’s my boom boom . That’s my booty” . Can’t even say anything bc she’s so right 😭😭

Hah I love when toddlers learn our lessons too well 😆 Make sure you teach her the anatomically correct words when you teach her about her body as well! Vagina/vulva and butt/bum/bottom

We had this fight too! But handled it a “talk him through it” way so more of a now you’re all done you need to be cleaned up, shall I do it for you or shall I help you to do it yourself - then just kind of held his wrist and directed his hand 🙈

We taught our daughter the correct word for vagina and vulva and she had a yeast infection. She said her vulva itched. My husband took her to the doctor and the doctor asked my daughter if she could take a look. My daughter said 'no, my vagina and vulva are private.' The doctor was very surprised and said ' I am so proud that you know that. I am a doctor and I need to see so I know what medicine to give you to make you better. You are so right though, that is private and you should not show people.' My husband reassured her and said 'I will be right here the whole time'

I have taught my children from the beginning the right worda and that its their body and can say no if they want to ect i feel its important for them to know from the beginning x

@Trish she knows what they are but I don’t need to wipe those so she never says don’t touch my vagina . I help wipe her butt after every poop though so she says it then

With us, because we’re bilingual he usually says anatomy in native tongue so ever since he’s started 3yr old kinder we’ve taught him the English names for privates as well, even now at 5 sometimes he’ll still say the Viet names of them, lots of fruits and veggies he knows in Viet so he can’t go to school saying “I’m eating com and thit” lol it’s rice and meat 😵‍💫

Since the day she was born as ridiculous as some people thought it was it allowed me to practice how I would teach her

@Kellie 😭😭😭😭
