Your first ultrasound will be around 12 weeks which is the first time you will see baby. Your first antenatal appointment will be to discuss medical history of you/baby’s father and to run through questions. You announce it whenever you feel ready to though! Congratulations by the way ☺️🤍
No they don’t do much at that appt but they should book your 12 week which is usually when people announce after 🩷
No. You won't get an NHS scan until you're 12-14 weeks. Even if you have a private scan and baby is fine, unfortunately it's only that snapshot in time. The risks go down a lot from 12 weeks and a lot more from 20. But announce whenever you feel comfortable!

So I was given my scan appointment at my booking appointment this time round so could work the same for your trust.
No it’s just your booking appointment where they ask you loads about your health and family health history so they can assess whether you might have a high/low risk pregnancy. They might take a urine sample and blood sample to send off for some initial tests. I remember coming out of mine so disappointed caus I still didn’t really believe I was pregnant caus there was nothing to prove it! So I booked an early ultrasound scan at 10 weeks as my first nhs scan wasn’t booked in until almost 14 weeks
I hardly told anyone until after the midway scan.
You can announce whenever you want to, your baby, your choice 🤍
you can announce baby whenever you want to, never feel pressure to hold off due to what society says, i told virtually everyone as soon as i found out at 6 weeks 🤣 the first appointment however is the midwife appointment which not much happens, no scan etc. you will get a scan appointment for between 10-12 weeks xxx
i’m in the US so this may be different but i had my first appt at 8 weeks (i found out then that i was actually only 6 weeks due to my cycle irregularity), and had an ultrasound as well. we shared with our parents and siblings then (at 6 weeks) but waited til 9 weeks to share beyond immediate family. we just shared online last week (16 weeks) that we’re expecting. it’s totally up to you and how comfortable you feel with sharing. we shared with people early on that would be a support if we suffered a loss early on.
I announced after I got a sonogram!! I was 10 weeks and some days! She told me baby was healthy! And every thing looked perfect!
Hey! Your first antenatal app will just be with the midwife to discuss your medical history, health profile, etc! Your first scan would be at 12 weeks which you should get an appointment through for! 🩵
