Tantrums and emotions

My daughter just turned 3 and suddenly she is so emotional and on the verge of a tantrum 24/7 It’s like she’s exhausted and I don’t know if this is normal. Everything I say or do sends her into a massive melt down where she falls to the floor kicking and screaming and I mean it was sudden, straight after she turned 3 😫😫😫 I don’t think moving up to preschool at nursery has helped as she misses her friends in her old group 😫 What can I do

Honestly I think it's just a case of riding it out, picking your battles and deep breaths. It's HARD! My son turned 3 and was exactly the same. The other week he had a meltdown for 2.5 hours because I didn't park next to a dark blue car (his favourite colour). You're not alone x

It’s the threenagers they all go through this stage. My eldest was like a switched flipped over night. My youngest has been screaming at me this last week but intermittently…she’s 3 in 2 weeks time. All you can do is keep boundaries & ride it out x

Does she nap? Pre school might be the culprit for two reasons, one that the transition is difficult and two , she might be over tired. My son had a full day settle session in pre school last week and fell asleep at tea time! They told me it’s very common for the little ones to become over stimulated and more tired than usual because it’s extremely full on, more children, etc. I am dreading when he starts officially as I know he’s going to struggle x

@Katie she doesn’t nap hasn’t for over a year, she does have sensory issues and I think you’re right. I think the culprit is preschool as it’s so noisy and her friends haven’t moved up 😞 I popped into nursery yesterday and they are going to monitor her and take her to a quiet room when she gets over whelmed so see if this helps x

How funny! I'm currently going through this with my 3 year old.. and from what I've seen here and read online it seems pretty normal at this age very jekyll and hyde 🤣
