I didn’t do any ultrasounds except for the first one to confirm that it was a singleton Not like I could change anything anyway it was going to be what it was going to be
My daughter didn’t and I don’t understand why she didn’t get one , she should have got one it would have helped to know ahead that she was having an almost 10 lb baby and avoided her to go through hrs and hrs of labor to end up with a c section .. according the dr when I questioned it was that the anatomy’s can done in second trimester helps to shows of any complications which I don’t believe is accurate or acceptable..
I went to a nurse practitioner up until 36 weeks and got an ultrasound at every single appointment, the last 4 weeks I go to my delivering doctor and they don’t do any ultrasounds. But I think you should be at least getting an anatomy scan around 20 weeks? I would be surprised/concerned as well
Nope! I had one to confirm the pregnancy around 12 weeks, had one around 20 weeks to check baby’s anatomy and then I didn’t see baby again until baby was born! (They did ultrasound when I was in labor to verify that baby was positioned correctly but I didn’t really see bc I was focused on my contractions)But they check the heartbeat with the Doppler at every appointment. I just reminded myself that healthy pregnancies require less check ups. There’s some clinics that will do ultrasounds for you aside from your regular ones but it depends on area if they’re accessible or not
Starting at 36 weeks I’ve had an ultrasound done every week. They check for amniotic fluid and if the baby is practicing breathing. Before this it was once a month.
My first OB, I had an ultrasound at every single appointment I loved it. This pregnancy in a new state I don’t know what to expect
I didn’t have a high risk pregnancy but after 32 weeks I got one every weeks. So 34weeks I got one because my entire pregnancy my baby was and still is on the smaller side. Then at 36 weeks she was sides and they wanted to see if she’d flip. So I got one at 37 weeks and she was breeched. And one 38 weeks to confirm she was still butt down. And then at 39 weeks and 2 days she came out via c section
I had ultrasounds up to 30 some weeks and didn't realize that wasn't normal, I was "geriatric" since I was going to be 35 when my baby was going to be born
I would at least get the anatomy ultrasound to rule out any potential physical issues with the baby. That one really put my mind at ease. My Dr said that if everything looks good at that ultrasound from then on the baby has developed its “structure” is just growing/ getting bigger. I’d ask for this ultrasound one at least.
There are also services that come to your house and will show you your baby. When I would get nervous I would make an appointment just to see her move and see how much she grew. I used https://www.mylittlepeekaboo.com
I got an ultrasound at 8 weeks, 12 weeks. Then the sonogram at 20 weeks. And finally an ultrasound at 36 weeks to see if baby was head down. Once I was 22 weeks I could feel baby kick so that helped ease my anxiety about how baby was doing because I could feel her moving.
I didn’t get an ultrasound in my third week unless I was seeing a new doctor! I had the worst pregnancy anxiety especially since my placenta was in front of the baby so I never felt her move. I’ve gone to urgent care/ emergency before and they check and show u everything’s okay or you can go to an imaging place (: I couldn’t imagine waiting so long to see my baby
