Also you can have something sweet after a protein, helps not spike up your blood sugar too high. If I am craving cake for example, I would eat my meal first, protein with veges, I would replace the carb part of the meal with the cake/icecream but small portion. Hope this helps.
I worry that would put me in a frenzy and I’d eat a whole Girl Scout cookie box lol.
Ooh I’ll keep that in mid
I had it when I was pregnant, but I still ate what I wanted. As long as I waited 2hrs after every meal..my blood sugar was still in the clear. Get those Chomps meat sticks, they're 12-10g of protein. I ate one with every snack
I just got my test results and I have GD as well. I've been eating really well for over a week but nothing changed. I'm afraid of what you're going through, because I'm the same way! Idk why this is happening and it's not fair but hang in there, it's the best for your baby!! You can do it!! Maybe just have one small bite and savor it!
Oh girl I feel you.. everyday I tell myself don’t eat sugar and the more I tell myself the worse it gets. Instead I’m going to try telling myself to crave steaks and salads.. I’m sorry you have to go through that. What were your blood sugar levels at?? I’m surprised they have you on insulin 4xs a day
And great advice from the girl that mentioned Chomp sticks. Those are more go toos to break the morning “fast” and when I need something quick to satisfy a hunger spell.
@Desiree my one hour was 208 so I didn’t even have to take the 3hr. I’ve been doing this for 7 weeks now and my numbers are good some days and others they are all over the place
Have it in a very small portion. I have GD too and am 30 weeks too. 😩
