Not eating at nursery

My baby is flat out refusing the food at nursery. I’ve seen the menu, it looks great and I don’t understand it. I bring him home and he eats fine. The staff say he just will not accept food from them or self feed. What is happening? I don’t know what to do.

How long has he been there? My youngest was on hunger strike at first, but it didn’t last!

@Chloe only a few days but they seem really concerned about it! Did yours eat at home but not at nursery? We sometimes have hunger strikes here too but he’s finally going through an ok time with food now so it’s annoying it’s not transferring to nursery!

This is SO normal!!!!! Yep, he’d eat perfectly normally for us, but at nursery he’d turn his nose up at absolutely everything offered for the first few days he was there!! Then, he’d only eat some spoonfuls of baby porridge - so they offered that if he refused his meals 😂 Now, literally 4 weeks later, he eats everything he’s offered. I didn’t personally stress too much- he doesn’t have words. He can’t tell me/them that he’s not feeling safe and settled or happy, so he was showing it the only way he could (aside from crying!). Now he’s much happier and properly settled, he eats

That is absolutely normal. Ask them and see if you could provide him something from home and see if he’ll eat that instead or have it as back up x

Omg I could have written this myself. He’s been there since start of Jan. I’m at a loss as to what to do too :(
