Mine was absolutely fine - didn’t feel sick or anything just bored and hungry 😂

It’s far more chilled than you think. It’s just boring sitting around waiting. And I had to do two separate tests during the pregnancy 🤣😴

Felt fine… baby was doing somersaults about 40 minutes later for a good hour 😂

I didn’t think the drink tasted that bad but then it turns out I had GD so maybe that’s why 🫤 I’m not great with the blood tests but I managed to do both. Overall it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

@Kathryn did you feel unwell at all x

I felt very unwell. It made me feel extremely faint and then need to be sick. I was expecting a positive result but it was negative. There was another two women that nearly fainted whilst I was there. The other five were completely fine! I think it just depends on the individual. Hopefully you will be okay!

I was nervous like you because of what I’ve heard. It was completely fine - the drink wasn’t too bad and I felt fine apart from my usual hunger-nausea. I also have horrible veins so it took 5 attempts for blood but that’s a me issue!

I liked the drink it was like Capri sun, and felt fine after 😊

The biggest amount of fear mongering I've ever seen was over this! I promise you it is nothing to worry about at all (i'll be having my 3rd in a couple of weeks!) The drink is very similar to raspberry / strawberry water (if you've ever had it?) But sweeter. You have 5 minutes to drink so there's no need to rush if you don't want to. You will probably notice your baby kick which is nice! I had to complete the GTT when I was 12 weeks pregnant and suffering from morning sickness still and I still managed the test without difficulty!

I felt fine! If anything just uncomfortable as the seats aren’t the best in my hospital. I’d recommend wearing something comfortable and light weight as the hospital was also boiling 🥵. And definitely plan to go for food or have something in the house ready to eat as afterwards I was STARVING 😂

As others all I had heard was horror stories and negativity but honestly it was fine. The drink was awful but take a bottle of water with you so you can sip afterwards. Also take your phone, book, headphones, work ect just to keep busy as it does feel like you are sat for ages

I had the test twice and was absolutely fine both times! No symptoms apart from bored and starving 😂

The drink doesn’t taste bad at all but I felt absolutely awful. I was dizzy, felt like I was going to be sick etc - but my appointment was at 12 something so I had been fasting for ages! Was negative for GD though!

I love a sugary drink so had no issue drinking that at all! It kinda got me after 1 hour where I felt dizzy, plus the chairs in the hospital are quite uncomfortable so that didn’t help! But tbf it went quicker than expected! Just make sure you have food ready at home or with you xx

@Ellie no I felt fine. I sat there doing work on my laptop for 2 hours! Just got up to pee a couple times.

I was terrified as I have a massive phobia of needles and the same I heard horror stories but it was such a pleasant experience - the drink tasted so good I asked if I could have another 😂 (of course they said no) the worst part was the fasting and waiting around for 2 hours until the 2nd test so just make sure you bring something to entertain yourself for a couple of hours and then treat yourself to a big breakfast after 😂x

I didn’t have any issues with mine at all and I didn’t think it tasted that bad either just was like a knockoff sweet juice everyone is different but I would try not to worry about it!

Honestly it tasted like drinking syrup which made me feel a bit nauseous but drinking water after fixed everything wasn't too bad just boring waiting around the hospital 😂

I think it’s the anxiety before test and waiting for result after you came home. Otherwise it’s not terrible.

My drink tasted like orange juice from fish and chips stall which is like under £1
