Toddler with big belly

My lo is nearly 16 months old and is super cute and squidgey however, she has a really big belly. Is this normal? She’s a big girl generally (tall and on 99th percentile) but I have noticed her belly protrudes. Can toddlers be overweight or is the potbelly a normal toddler thing?

Yeah they have that baby belly for years. My almost 5 year old has totally lost it now and it was so gradual I didn't really notice. He looks so grown up now and sometimes I miss that big round baby belly 🥹

My little girl is small for her age and she still has a big belly ahaha. She’s only 10th percentile and still has a beer belly, where the rest of her is tiny.

Toddlers don't start to get any muscle tone until they are around maybe 3/4 year old. The little pot belly's are normal at this age.

Absolutely my eldest is 99 percentile too, she goes in stages where she chubs up a bit then grows, she’s in a growth spurt now! It’s so normal, I did ask a doctor before and was told it’s just how some toddlers are :) she’s 3 in age 6/7 clothes and so tall ! She’s just growing so fast lol 😂 As long as you know they are getting the right nutrition and exercise there’s no need for concern ❤️ all grow different x

My LG is the same she was on the 98tb percentile but dropped to the 91th The belly still there

Toddlers need fat!!! They should be chubby as it helps brain function and growth. They’re little sponges right now and need to have the extra chub We give our son plenty of butter on things and peanut butter every day to help restock his healthy fats. He is definitely not overweight

I think I accidentally clicked on ‘maybe over weight!’ I didn’t want you to think that’s what I meant and I can’t change it. Totally normal, healthy chubby babies are the cutest 🥰
