Going out for dinner and BLW

Just want some other mums experiences or opinions on going out for a meal with little ones, my husband wants to take me and our 8 month old out for Valentines day and obviously we will be eating dinner but I don't want my baby to be sat with no food, she eats solids (finger foods) in your opinion is it better to take your own food for little one or better to order something for them, or feed them a few bits off of your plate? I've been really good with not giving anything salty or sweetened but obviously when someone else cooks it you have no idea what's in it so just a little bit unsure as to whether I should just take food for her or order something. Thanks in advance!

My girl will just share our food, we’ve been out a load of times for food! When we’ve gone to Wagamamas we’ve ordered plain rice noodles and then given her bits from our meals, ask Italian she’s shared my pizza and garlic bread, even Burger King she’s had a couple unsalted chips and an onion ring 🤣 It depends where you’re going for food but when it’s just a one off now and again, don’t worry too much about the salt and just make sure to balance their meals out before and after going xx

Depends where you’re going to be honest. If I was going to a pub I’d probably take something for them, or at least a snack and choose a healthy option from the kids menu (like maybe cucumber sticks and hummus, or bangers and mash). We go to an Indian sometimes that we know does everything from fresh, and we order a korma and give it! My daughter used to get it all over her face but she loved it, and my son (who isn’t a massive foodie) enjoyed it too. I always just check the menu before hand and make sure there’s something that they’d eat otherwise there’s no point us going really

With my little one I've always just asked for my salad which comes with most things to not have dressing. Then my little one likes to mainly munch on pepper or cucumber!

I take my own but he will also have bits off everyone’s plates x

I take my own but give him bits of my meal to try x

I always take a little packed lunch. I went out for Sunday lunch last week and took my boy cottage pie in an insulated pot and a yoghurt. I met my friend for coffee at lunchtime today and took him a banana, baby custard, some cauliflower puffs and cucumber. I love eating out with him because it keeps him entertained
