Best way to stop pumping?

My LG is turning 6 months soon and for my own mental health I think it’s time to stop pumping 😢 I’ve always been a low supplier so she’s been combi fed from the start but I said I wanted to get to 6 months with at least some breast milk if I could. What’s the best way to stop pumping and feeding? Is it okay to just stop? Or should I stop slowly to avoid any issues?

Definitely don't just stop as this can lead to mastitis. I stopped when my LG was around 3 months, and you have to gradually reduce the number of pumps you do a day. Best way I found was to carry on pumping the same amount of times a day at first, but for less time (so just enough to stop the feeling of fullness in the breast), then after a couple of days, try and drop a pump a day/every couple of days until eventually you just don't need to pump anymore. It took about 3 weeks in total for me to completely stop, but I had quite a big supply.

I would advise to slowly stop. If you were pumping for instance 6 times a day, reduce it to 4 then 2 and 1… that’s just you telling your body how much supply to produce. Thank you

Slowly lower the amount of times you pump your milk will adjust. If you pump 5 only pump 4 then after a few days 3 etc
