There are certain ones that stop periods all together. But not all of them do.

I've always taken my pill packets back to back (combined pill) without any breaks so I never used to get a period, I asked my doctor and she said that it was fine to take it continuously 🤷🏼 x

So the combined pill contains estrogen and progestin and the mini pill contains progestin only! They just work in slightly different ways. I've had a look and the one you've been prescribed is the mini pill, it says online you take it continuously with no breaks inbetween packs but always best to double check with your doctor if you're not sure! X

I took the combi pill for years and if I didn’t take the break week I didn’t get a period at all. I went 12 months without one on purpose. You can choose to take the pill packs back to back and have no period or take the 7 day break and have a bleed (it’s not a real period). There’s 2 types of pill: the mini and the combi. Basically it’s the combination of hormones, so a combi pill is oestrogen and progesterone mixed. The mini pill is just progesterone. Yours is the mini pill, just progesterone

This is not the one I used to take, I had desogestrel. But this is one that can stop periods. It’s commonly used when going on holiday to delay or stop periods. Some of them you will have a weeks break where you would get a period and others you take consistently. Some you get periods, others stop them completely.
