@Lucia it’s so annoying ask teel like I can’t go out any for longer than 2 hours with her I had to go out the other day for 5 hours she didn’t drink once I tried about 15 times I just felt so fed up like I can’t even go out anymore can’t do anything She doesn’t take any bottles tried than all wasted 100s of pounds not even a sippy cup or open cup or even spoon feeding nothing so I get no break at all I’m fed up wish I never breastfed
It's hard I know... But remember that's just a phase. Hasn't she started solids?
@Lucia yeah she eats great, but she will not drink even water when out it’s really weird I don’t get why?!
This sounds so frustrating I’m sorry 😣 have you asked her pediatrician or consulted a lactation specialist? I wonder if they’d recommend if you stop for your own sanity. Sometimes if it’s not worth it there might be a way that relieved your mental anguish caused by all of the feeding troubles. Maybe there’s a way to supplement her hydration through the solid foods? I’m not sure but I’d definitely consult someone! If this is a lingering issue and has been going on a while maybe there’s another way
@Leah yeah I will be seeing her health visitor this week I’ll ask! But they just say well she’s gaining weight so she must be ok !
My 3 month old does this, the one thing I’ve found is playing hoover noises loud on my phone and it keeps her ubdistracted, and usually helps her fall asleep too x
My son is like this as well. I’ve found it helps to give him something to hold in his hand while I nurse him. It keeps him focused on the item and not constantly looking around/trying to run away lol. Hope it helps!
Don't worry you are not alone. A similar situation with my daughter, reading this made me feel less alone. My LO is 3 months and she gets easily distracted now and overstimulated so she struggles to latch during the day... The situation is better at night when she basically only dream feeds, so I think she can feed because she is literally sleeping and not distracted by anything. I found that she is ok with the bottle during the day so I would pump so I can build a stash for her to drink during the day should it get really hard to latch her to the breast. Pumping is a bit of a chore now, not gonna lie. But at least she is still getting my milk and I don't get engorged.
