Alternative Milk

We use the al pro growing up oat milk, it doesn’t give my girl constipation but it might be your LO needs time to adjust xx

@Naomi ok thank you! We did kind of just go fully onto it as she loved it so much. Maybe I should have introduced it slowly instead

But then again they have stopped her prescription and only have a few tin left now 😩

@Emma what prescription milk was she on? Only as soya milks are usually harder for them to digest as it’s a very similar protein to cows milk so it might be why she’s not settled fully on it? I use the Moma Barista oat milk (was recommended by dietician and can buy in bulk from Costco for £7😂). My little boy went straight onto it and I just did a straight swap too as I used his formula until it was gone and it went funny going half and half, he was on Neocate. Xx

Try maybe seeing if you can give her prunes or pears (prune pouch a day works perfect for us) to help her go whilst her body adjusts? This is what we did with my girl as all of them were making her constipated. If not you could try oat but you may have the same problem.

I was advised by the doctor to also avoid soya products as they break down very similar to cows milk apparently

My little one has this but the oat milk version, he hates soya milk and his tummy can't tolerate it. We've give him a bottle of half his prescribed formula and half of the growing up milk though as if he has a full bottle of just the growing up milk it does upset his tummy. Our GP is carrying on his prescription formula until 2 as the dietician said it can take a long time for them to transition off of it, so could be worth asking if they'll get extend the prescription? Xx

@Courtney Her formula was Aptamil Pepti 2. That’s good to know! The dietitian just said to experiment with different alternatives. I don’t have a Costco near me. I wonder if you can get it online x

We didn’t agree with soya milk, so we went to the growing up oat milk ☺️

Have you tried lactose free whole milk. Have you also tried starting the milk ladder to see if shes grown out of it
