Yeah I get this part, what about to just notify them… need to wait for the MATB1 ? 🫡🫡
My baby was born in August 2024, I only applied for UC in May but when they processed my claim they called me in to see my matb1 so I’d say notify them whenever you have your proof of pregnancy as they’ll just want to verify that. It also took them about a month to call me in to show proof of the birth of my child. Just do everything as soon as possible so you’re not waiting too long, and if you’re allegeable sign up for the sure start maternity grant 😊
You can notify your uc agent as soon as possible in to your journal and say you’re pregnant etc due date. They’ll request a MATB1 form which is given to you by your midwife team you’ll then need to upload it to your journal once your have received it. As for adding wait till they’re born when you register then you need to take the red book and make sure that you have their hospital number as well. I didn’t need a birth certificate as I added her on 3 days after she was born so they understood that there’s a while for an appointment for the registry office.
you can’t add the baby onto your UC claim until they are born & are registered UC will ask for proof, including birth certificate and child tax credit letter to prove that the child is yours and you are full time carer
