Washing powders

When did you all switch from non bio washing to bio? I’m just curious as I can’t wait to get my washing back to what it used to smell like but I also don’t want to upset my little one’s skin! I know it’s currently to early as he’s only 3 months but I’m hoping I won’t have to use non bio forever as he’s always had quite good skin and hasn’t really ever reacted to anything. So what age of your little ones did you all make the switch?

I've always used non bio detergent anyway as my own skin is a bit sensitive 😅 and I use Fairy fabric softener

@Emily I’ve always followed what my mom did they once I moved out for that comfort and even more so after I lost her. She made sure our clothes smelt good 😂 I honestly find fairy way too chemically smelling which I know sounds silly 😂 I’ve been using the Aldi version because it’s much milder and it’s a bonus of being cheaper 😂

I use non bio but the trick is to you use their own brand, my washing smells beautiful and it stays x

There like £1.30 and usuing branded stuff smells good when you get it out but when it dries it disapears xx

Ive always used non bio only because any other washing powder irritates me i use fairy powder then unstoppables and comfort softener 😂

My daughter seems to have a bit of sensitive skin, so I've stuck with non bio powder. Try and find decent fabric conditioners, for delicate skin if you need it, that have a strong smell. Alternate them if you can because you will get too used to a scent and think you can't smell it anymore x

I never used non bio with my little girl have always used the same stuff that I have always used which is bold tabs and then lenor unstoppable scent boosters xx

I’ve never used bio even on myself x

I’m sorry no one has answered your question I was wondering the same thing 😂 but there is some nice smelling fairy fabric softener that’s give it a little bit of a Nice smell

The NHS say there's no need to use non bio for babies as there's no evidence it is any better for their skin or anything else. So use your preferred detergent! Bio works better on stains anyway, especially poo and weaning ones! https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/caring-for-a-newborn/what-you-will-need-for-your-baby/

We used non bio for the first 2 weeks. 16 weeks now and we use bio, it just washes better! Tbh, unless their skin is very sensitive there's no evidence that using bio causes any harm to their skin. Best you can do is give it a go. We've had zero issues with using bio and we were using it for a 2 year old before baby was born and I started using it early on babies washing. When my partner moved in with his 2 year old he was using non bio and honestly so many of his clothes just weren't losing their stains. I switched it just to prove it to him and 2 years in we waste far less of his clothes now because it gets marks out better! I use NAPISAN for stained stuff and do really well for stains on their clothes across the board.

@Bethan thank you! He doesn’t really have sensitive skin and I was all mine and his dads stuff, including out bedding in normal bio so he is used to it! I think I’ll wait til this next bottle runs out and try using my usual stuff! Thank you!

Thanks guys, I’ll just give it a ago
