We have introduced the potty and at specific times we just sit. Sometimes we go on the potty sometimes we don’t. Once we’re 100% walking we plan to potty train seriously.

We're starting. Lots of exposure by going to the bathroom with mom and dad, watching, narrating what we're doing, washing hands, etc. We also have a little potty next to ours that he plays with and will sit on (clothed). He has always hated a wet/dirty diaper, and will come get us and lay down immediately once he is done, so we know he will be interested. Our other kiddos were potty trained fully by 2yrs, and all on their own.

I thought potty training didn’t start till later my daughter can’t even walk yet. I guess this is something to think about.

@Kels🌸 What most people think of "potty training" is the routine, pull-ups & undies, making them sit for a time, etc. But it really starts as exposure!

I've never considered potty training before 18mos.. I'd love to hear your experiences from those trying!

My daughters 1 and I have the idea of waiting until she can talk. But I feel like introducing her to what it is and what the words poo and pee is maybe she’ll learn. Because she already tells me meme when she wants to go to sleep. I just have to start, but I do like the idea of sometimes she will use the potty and sometimes she won’t

@Kels🌸 I’ve read articles where some Asian cultures will sit their babies under a year on the potty and that’s how they learned and were potty trained early.

I did elimination communication with my daughter since 8weeks.

We will start at 18 months unless she shows interest before then. We did the same with my oldest and she was potty trained by 21 months with no accidents.
