Recently had a MC, with my first born I only took folic acid, but from when I found out and wasn't clued up about it. Now my second pregnancy has resulted in a miscarriage, without supplements, I'm wondering if it could have been avoided or to try and reduce the risk of another one, as much as possible. I wonder if these products actually help or a money making scheme.

All I took was folic acid and vitamin d.
Please don't blame yourself ❤️ I'm very sorry for your losses x

I didn't take folic acid, I had pregnacare but I didn't take it every day as I forgot most of times, I have 4 kiddos and no miscarriage so I don't think its supplements. Miscarriage can happen from many things so it's hard to know from what exactly 🙂 and I'm sorry for your loss ❤️

Look into Zita west, she has supplements for when you are just trying and then every stage. I took them all and never had any issues during pregnancy xx

A lot of the prenatal vitamins that were tested were found to have high levels of lead and other heavy metals

Not saying you shouldn’t take them but choose the best supplements for you…just was shocked to learn about the heavy metals being in prenatal vitamins

I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ It’s not your fault, supplements would not have prevented a loss.

Many developing countries don’t take prenatals and they have babies by the millions …I’m really sorry for your loss but please don’t blame yourself if it happened it would’ve happened w prenatals or not.. the only difference w developing countries and the mums diet there is they eat very wholesome- meats, heaps of veggies fruits rice grains etc. so they get all their vitamins and nutrients from foods.

Yes there is science to back up that folic acid can prevent miscarriage. That’s obviously not the only thing that plays a role though. Taking a multivitamin containing methylfolate (as opposed to synthetic folic acid) may also be more beneficial as not everybody can metabolise folic acid efficiently depending on your genetic profile.
So if you really plan to give this a go I would suggest going for brands that contain the methylated form and in clinically researched dose (400mcg-800mcg). The health of the sperm also pays a bigger role than most people realise in preventing ms. I am so very sorry for your loss 🫶

what specifically please?

I’ll link you the studies as soon I get a chance
Thank you for the kind messages ❤️
