Thanks Izzy, that sounds pretty good tbh! Were you on a ward then moved to your own room once your waters went?
everyone has a completely different experience, mine wasn’t very pleasant, but if you want more information about it, please messsge me, i’d be happy to share my experience with you! x
Yeah so I was in a shared room at first with three other beds in total, your partners can stay over night on the induction side as well which is lovely. Then when I went into labour they took me down to labour and delivery where I had my own private room
I was in in December. Also had the hormone pessary - 9am > 9am. It didn't progress my dilation, so was told we would try again after a 12 hour break. Went home for a few hours and my waters broke at home. Went back into Jessops and was put into a private room on Rivelin until contractions progressed, my partner could stay for this stage and it took another day or so to move down to labour ward. Was well looked after and checked on frequently, but the pessary gave me really bad cramps and I couldn't really sleep or rest. Happy to chat if you want more info
I was in November. I had the balloon in at 2pm and they allowed me home with that and booked me back in for 24hrs later so 2pm the following day. They told me if it came out before then to ring triage and to go in, it didn’t come out but I started with quite bad contractions at 4am that morning and I rang and they said I was in latent labour and to stay at home for as long as possible.. lasted till 10am and went in by 7pm that night I was transferred to labour ward and gave birth at 1am the following morning! I didn’t find it too difficult to be fair the balloon was slightly uncomfortable but manageable. Like Charlie said above though not everyone has the same experience!
I have, went in on a Thursday afternoon and was first put on a monitor to monitor baby and then they did a pelvic exam to see what method would be most suitable and I ended up having the pessary. Wasn’t painful at all to insert was literally like a tampon but we did have to stay over night so bring your hospital bag with you just in case. I had the hormone pessary inserted at about 2 in the afternoon and my waters broke probably 2 in the morning and went into labour very quickly after that
