When does midwife listen to baby’s heartbeat

Hi, My midwife listened to baby’s heartbeat for the first time at my 25 week appointment which I thought was standard but she didn’t listen to it at my 28 week one. Are they supposed to listen to it regularly now or was that just it? I’ve got my 31 week appointment coming up soon so was wondering whether to ask/ what is “normal”.

I believe guidance is to listen in after 26 weeks. Definitely ask next time because I got a listen in at my 28 weeks but not my 25 weeks x

They listened to my babies from 16 weeks. Definitely ask xx

My midwive has listened to baby heartbeat every appointment since 16 weeks x

My midwife has never listened to baby’s heartbeat

Mine started listening at every appointment from 25 weeks

@Lauren thanks! I will deffo ask. She’d just come back from maternity leave herself so the appointment was a bit all over the place anyway x

I’ve had the heartbeat listened to from 16 weeks onwards xx

Every appointment since 16 weeks, but I guess it depends on each Trust's policy

It depends on your trust. If you say you want to listen to baby’s heartbeat they can find it from 16 weeks. There is no indication for the midwife to do this other than the mums enjoying listening! :)

All trusts have different protocols my first they never listened at all until they did my sweeps!! I assume same this time currently 30 weeks and they haven't! But I have a friend who was listened to from 20 weeks who lives in a different area x
