Washing baby clothes?

Hi when did everyone start washing baby clothes? I haven’t washed any yet but want to when we have the nursery ready so they can go straight in his drawers. Someone said they have to be freshly washed so need washing again if you do it too soon.

I was going to do mine at 30 weeks.

I’ve got everything folded and in his drawers for now so I’ve not got bags everywhere. I’m due 28th May but will go on leave from work 11th April. I plan on washing his clothes from then

I’m gonna wash baby bag stuff now and any 0-1 months stuff (I don’t get newborn as first baby was big), then will wash other stuff later on as don’t need it yet- this is my 2nd and a lot of stuff is in the loft. Tbh I’ve only bought a few new born baby grows and not bought anything else 🤣

I’ve just finished washing all the newborn stuff and I’m 29 weeks tomorrow. I’m going to pack them away in a suitcase to hopefully keep them fresh haha

Is anyone using a specific detergent? Fairy non-bio was recommended but is anyone just using the one that they use now?

@Jessica I just went with the Sainsbury brand non-bio! It smells very nice 😊

@Natalie great! Thanks so much ☺️

Planning to do when I'm on maternity leave - early April. Want them to still smell fresh for when baby makes his appearance 😊

I’m planning to do it end of April, it sounds daft but I want to wait for warmer and dryer weather so I can hang them on the line 🥰 I always dreamt of that but my daughter was a winter baby so never got the chance!

@Sophie yess I was thinking this, first bit of nice weather want to get them all dried on the line 😍 ahh so excited! Xx

@Sheri I always think they smell nicer when aired on the line! Can’t wait! 🥰

Started last week I'm due May 4th
