I’m the opposite to the above and found my toddler easier than baby 🤣 my baby was very unsettled tho and cried a lot! As a toddler (we flew with him age 2) and about to fly with him in a month or so again and he was happy to sit and watch moana, read a book, have some snacks.
We have flown a lot from 1hr flights to 26! 3-9mths is by far the easiest!! Walking is a game changer!!!! Just leave plenty of time, take plenty of snacks, old toys, new toys, books, load an iPad (I’m anti TV but make an exception on planes for my sanity!!) and just get through it. It’s not going to be pleasant and incredibly stressful and exhausting BUT the holiday is always worth it :)
I found taking my baby fine as could just breastfeed him the majority of the flight, now he's a toddler it's a different ball game 😂
My Oct baby has been on 3 holidays so far.I found going with a toddler so much easier than with a baby, I know a lot of people say the opposite. We first went when he was 8m, then when he was 20m and 22m. Found having a walking child who doesn’t need multiple naps and feeds much easier than a baby but many people say baby is easier so maybe it depends on the child. Flight itself was ok at any age, just bring toys, lots of snacks and things to keep them entertained x
Toddler much easier than baby to be honest. But different challenges. Lots of toys, books, snacks x
I took mine June last year and he was amazing! He watched shows and played games on his iPad (he only has it for travelling) and I got him some new puzzles/colouring books and he was literally just chilling eating snacks and watching his iPad 🤣 we’ve also done a couple of long car trips to Paris and exactly the same he was fine!
It’s um…an experience to say the least 😅 we’ve been on 3 holidays with her, so at 10 months, 16 months and then at 19 months. It’ll probably be a bit easier now that they have their own seat. We have two holidays booked this year so hoping it’s a bit easier. In saying that, she was actually pretty well behaved on all the flights she’s been on. She’s slept, she was entertained with her stickers, books, toys etc. It’s just a bit hard where you’re stuck in one place for a few hours and trying to keep them happy.
Yes we’ve taken him Jamaica and Sri Lanka and both were great. He was super well behaved. He also often goes Netherlands by plane but that’s only 45m so easy to manage.
Not fun! Easier with babies! I took my son to Australia twice, Italy every 2 months (we flew alone the 2 of us since he was 5 weeks old), Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Portugal, Egypt in the past two years. The hardest part is 1 to 2 years. Babies are easy they just sleep and cuddle on you, From 2 onwards they have their seat, get entertained by screen time and you have to just let them walk up and down the plane if they’re bored! Just make sure you’re patient and have lots of snacks 😬
