Our little boy is 5.5 weeks and also struggles with reflux. We have been given gaviscon for him from the doctors, but other than that we: - keep him upright for 30 mins after a feed. - tilt his next to me so he isn’t entirely flat at night time. - pace feed It’s so tough - supposedly it gets easier 😵💫😵💫 xxx
Both my littlest struggled with reflux and turned out to be dairy and soy allergies. Does she struggle with any of the following too? My littles had about 4 or 5 of these at that age. - gassy discomfort but struggles to pass wind - watery/mucusy nappies - green poo - excessive hiccups - congestion - baby acne - eczema - blood in poo
@Cesca hiya she’s mostly constipated but does have baby acne and when lying down struggles passing wind.
Hence been using biogaia - a probiotic which is possibly helping with reflux! Also feeding sitting up in koala position. Not sure if you’re breast feeding but I’ve also started taking certain teas! Ginger, camomile, fennel, liquorice. They are all meant to help! It’s so hard! Find the keeping upright for so long after feeding the most exhausting! Especially at night!
Hi* not hence! Lol
@Erin Rose I’ve not done koala position before but definitely going to start trying this. Weirdly my sister was telling me about camomile tea today as she’s been drinking it for her own health so something I’m thinking of starting. I’ve been trying to keep her upright as much as possible too so fingers crossed this works for us!
You could take her to see an osteopath. They work magic! https://www.healthymumma.com/blog/understanding-infant-reflux-a-guide-for-parents-on-osteopathic-treatment#:~:text=For%20infants%20with%20reflux%2C%20osteopathic,issues%20contributing%20to%20the%20discomfort.
