Any time my son started leaking we just moved him up in size. He’s pretty small for his age but always peed like twice as much. And would always leak. So he ended up staying in a diaper that’s a size or two bigger than he actually could fit. It might look a bit baggier but it was a life saver
I agree with the sizing up thing. My daughter is the same weight and we just switched to size 2 as well, I feel like the blowouts happen moreso when she's at the end of one size because there's no room for it to go anywhere else.
We’ve been using Pampers swaddlers and very rarely have a blowout! We just have to make sure the inner lining is outside of his booty cheeks. I don’t think I’ve ever had a blowout out the top/front so I don’t know what could be causing that. Maybe too loose?
And my little boy is 15lbs and we’re on size 2s
OK, just reason why I love pampers swaddlers lol, they seem so wide! We also have Huggies and they’re so narrow and on the smaller side and always have blowouts with them. Pampers seem larger so I don’t know how to compare to the Costco brand.
You may need to size up again! My son is 15 pounds and is in size 3. Also, Coterie is what we use and it's been the only brand that kept blowouts at bay
I use parents choice but I’ve also learned if they are having blowouts it’s time to size up
So far no blowouts ever with pampers swaddlers for me, 3.5 months so far. I think they are the best
@Fabienne same here! We use coterie and rarely have blowouts / when they do happen that’s my sign we need to size up! My son is also 15lb and now in size 3
Are you fluffing the edges on the legs?
We had good experience with pura but now I love kudos!
@Brooke Yes, but thank you- that's a great tip! I always sing in my head, "ruffles out, no wedgies" when I change her diaper 😂
@Mary I had one yesterday from the top and I haven’t had one from the top in a long time. I think it’s just more random and the amount of poop how full the diaper was previously.
We have amazing luck with pampers swaddles with the blowout tab.

Huggies are my go to. I had pampers with my first son and now I’m all Huggies with baby #2
we’ve always used millie moon, i think she’s had a blowout twice in her whole life
Thank you all for your recommendations! I'm currently trying out Pampers Pure Protection and I'm really pleased! The fit is definitely better for my daughter than the Kirkland ones; they're wider and have a higher back. They're nice and thin and really do a nice job wicking moisture away from the skin, but most importantly, no blow outs so far! 🤯👏
No because they blow out regardless. Doesn’t matter the brand 😂
