Distress when pooping

My baby is 13 months, and he recently just started pooping some solids, and when he does he cries out in distress 🥹 Has any other moms experience this and what did you do to help your little one? I’ve been pushing him to drink a little more water but we’re working on it 🥹

I hugged my baby, patted her on the back, put her on the toilet (bought a baby toilet seat after this and continued doing this to her on it for potty training) and told her she's doing good and it's ok. I kept holding her while she cried if it was extra solid but I did pause on feeding her rice cause that's why she had the more solid plops but I did encourage her more to potty on the toilet cause it's technically not too early then

Give him more fruit & other foods that will make his stools softer for him to pass x

Prunes really do work wonders for this. I've found non homogenized milk has been easier to digest and to make for softer poos too

Less milk more solids is what my pediatrician recommended. Milk can cause constipation. Also mixing 2 oz 100% prune juice with 2 oz of water and giving once daily helped my baby
