Bath

I’m only 8 days postpartum and I’ve had 2nd degree tear and dissolvable stitches. I’m just wondering when can I actually take a long clean bath? Or how long they take it heal. I’ve had showers but I’m finding it difficult to stand there without going dizzy as i lost so much blood in birth and still having big clots now.

I had a midwife come over and I think she said for me after day 3 I could but I think it depends on the state of your stitches so maybe ask a midwife to check your stitches the next time you see one just to make sure. If you’re having big clots as well it might be worth raising this with your midwife

I sat on a plastic chair in the shower until I didn't feel like my vag was falling out

@Izzy I’ve told them about the clots I’ve had a scan done today! But I will ask the midwife last time she checked on Sunday she said I was healing nice but I forgot to ask about bathing, I’m dying for one🤣🫣x

I started having baths again in the second week pp just don’t out any soaps or bath products in the bath water
