Babbling

Hey moms, are your little ones babbling sounds similar to ‘ma-ma’ and ‘da-da’ yet? My little one is 6 months old and babbles quite a bit, but he seems to be stuck on certain sound groups. I haven’t heard him say anything resembling ‘ma’ or ‘da’ yet, even though I’m repeating to him words like mama and dada quite a lot.

My baby makes lots of noises, but doesn’t make sounds like ‘ma’ ‘da’ ‘ba’; see more goes - ‘eunnnn’ or squeaks. I have assumed that’s normal for this age. I’m not sure I have heard any 6/7 month olds doing anymore. I do worry that she sometimes sounds quite annoyed. Like a growling ‘nnneeeaaa’ sound…. Or like she is trying to say something. Interested to hear if similar for others?

A lot of sounds but none that resemble mama or dada yet. With my first she just woke up one day saying dada and wouldn’t stop. Mama came much later. But she didn’t associate me or her dad with the words for a while after

No but we were getting a lot of ‘ya ya ya’ today in between the near-constant raspberries 😅

Single mother by choice and my little one’s first word is da da 😩😝

My little girl has started saying dada over and over, and the last 2 days has started saying baba too. Sometimes it’s at 3am too 😂😴

Honestly my baby sounds like a Tasmanian devil most of the time. That or very high pitched screeches. 🥲

My little girl is super chatty and says da-da but it’s just a sound at the moment, she’s never even really heard the word dada (single mum) 😆 she also makes sounds that sound like ‘yeah yeah yeah’ 😆 I think ‘da’ is easier for them to say than ‘ma’ so often comes before xx

@Shannon I like to agree. 👍🏻
