I use scent boosters. Despite using fabric softener with different scents, and the right amount of detergent my washing always smelled odd to me.

I use dairy non bio the pods I find work the best. If it’s a big wash I will add 2 of them Also add spring awakening fabric softener I think its lenor. I do the wash and then a spin and drain and hang them up asap and it always smells like washing dried on the line.
You shouldn’t need to be using loads of chemicals such as scent boosters. A simple detergent, tablet or pod is enough to clean and give scent and if you really wanted extra scent, a small amount of fabric conditioner should suffice. If your clothes are not coming out smelling clean, then the problem is either: 1. Your machine is old and needs replacing 2. You are overloading your machine with too many clothes per cycle so they don’t get a chance to be washed properly 3. You are using too MUCH powder/tablets etc, yes this can cause your machine to clump up and retain product 4. You are not using a hot enough cycle to actually wash your clothes 5. You are not taking your clothes out of the machine quickly enough therefore they get that damp/musty smell and the only way to get rid of it is to put them through a new wash cycle again

I use scent boosters and washing pods in the drum and then in the compartment I use astonish active stain remover and fabric softener and my clothes always smell delightful ☺️
