Rainbow pregnancy + cervical stitch/surgery.

Anyone else kept their pregnancy a secret?! The moment I found out I was pregnant again SAME TIME as last year, I freaked tf out, I was crying happy and sad tears. Anyways I’ve been fine up until my 20 week scan which was on the 11th Feb 2025, baby and everything else was good until my sonographer did a scan for my cervix, I got told my cervix is opening which was a big shock bc the previous readings it was measuring the right amount! We got done with the scan and I had to go straight to the clinic to get my scan information reviewed and got told in order to prevent a miscarriage the best thing is to get my cervix stitched, I got told the risks that follow which scared the living crap out of me but I wasn’t willing to lose another baby, bear in mind my previous loss was due to a placenta issue and not my cervix hence the confusion even more, bc if I’d knew I would’ve got the stitch done sooner! Anyway the staff were really good with me, I got asked several times if I want to go ahead with it and signed the consent form, got my insides checked (by a male doctor/surgeon which was v shameful bc I’m Muslim but I suppose they have to do their job, he was also Muslim 😭) and went ahead with the procedure, I’m not going to go into detail bc it’s scary but it was about half an hour to 45 minutes long! But anyone else had this surgery and how was it for you? How were you with the after care? I got told to rest and no intense household chores or heavy lifting which is understandable. I do hope the rest of this pregnancy goes well and I can have my baby safely and healthy, God willing ❤️

Hello 🙂 I read through your post yesterday and my heart goes out to you, it sounds like you’ve been through a lot! I haven’t been through the procedure you’ve been through so apologies no answers to your qs here but just wanted to say hope you’re able to rest and have a speedy recovery. Sending you well wishes for the rest of your pregnancy ❤️❤️

@Hollie Hii Hollie, thank you for taking the time out to respond to me, I appreciate it. It’s not a nice procedure and my anxiety ever since has hit the roof bc I’m getting pregnancy symptoms but also side affects from medication 😩😩😩 it’s tough being a woman! I’m just at my mums resting up but then I can’t take too much rest either ha 🥹🥲

Pregnancy symptoms are bad enough let alone combined with side effects from medication and anxiety. Glad to hear you’re resting up - you totally deserve to take it easy and to be looked after during this time🙏🏼🙏🏼
