Age on veggie straws

Got my daughter the Aldi version of three Kiddylicious cheese straws and just realised they say 3 years on them. Anyone know why they are different ages? (The Kiddylicious ones are 9 month)

Strange to be honest I never noticed that either, I have no idea why, maybe just to be safe. Do they seem harder? I would say they’re probably safe to give a 1 year old maybe 9 months if they’re softer. My 2 year old eats them sometimes and no issues x

I also came across this last week and was wondering why. Maybe the hardness differs

I asked this exact question months ago, I was worried as had been giving them to my little girl without realising! They are less melty, they require more chewing but apparently if BLW you can ignore the ages on them anyway. In all fairness I never saw her struggling and she did a mix of blw and purées at the time so I just supervised her eating and all was good!

They might have added salt in is the only thing I can think of which things under 1 year won't have

@Helen I checked on my Yuka app and they are low in salt :)

Tbh I’ve never noticed lol & don’t really care.

It’s for people doing traditional weaning- if you’re doing baby led weaning these are fine from 6 months onwards

I had this exact question! I even compared the ingredients and salt content and the only difference was the type of oil used (one was sunflower, the other I can’t remember). I have no idea why the Aldi version are 3+
