Thanks for this response- that is reassuring and relieving to read that she turned out so good! Had not heard of twice a week being a possibility yet so thanks for that too Hmm the person doing the measuring could definitely hurt or help the whole experience. Had a doctor new to the group I see kick off this whole thing and she jumped straight to worst case scenario type -gah so annoying! Hope your third stays out of it, 17 is still way above 10 so I bet you will-but either way sounds like you have a clear head about it, way to be! Ok well we shall see what we learn today
So because of my fibroids; they recommended me for monthly scans for suspected growth restriction. My baby girl has been growing & thriving just fine each appointment. I actually have my last one today. I had a fibroid that was growing near my cervix which would impact how I deliver but Last appt, baby was head down & the fibroid was not restricting my cervix. So i know my child hasn’t been diagnosed with growth restriction so it looks different but I decided to share since my chart says “suspected fetal growth restriction “ for the reason for my monthly scans.
Good to hear she’s thriving must be a relief! thanks for sharing-regardless of reason it’s still a mental and emotional waiting game (week to week or month to month) They were very thorough measuring everything today & monitored his heart for 20minutes and that looked good so I feel better about the weeks ahead thankfully they are also hoping to keep him in until 38 weeks with induced labor (not c-section) as long as he stays strong enough-we will be going for two time a week checks but that’s oddly comforting too that they’ll be watching him so closely
I was growth restricted with my first…she was always under the 3% for EFW. I went to an MFM twice a week and had NSTs twice a week. They ended up inducing at 37 weeks and she was born at 4 pounds! Needed a little help breathing but was off cpap after 24ish hours. Home two days later. No issues since….Super smart 3 year old who has always been ahead in developmental milestones. If I’m being totally honest the frequent visits and checks stressed me out more—my MFM had a terrible bedside manner and always made it seem worse than it ended up being. My second was a totally normal pregnancy and now my third is trending towards growth restricted…baby is in the 18% so not there yet but I’m getting weekly ultrasounds from her on out. I think having gone through this before I’m going to take everything with a grain of salt this time and remain positive. Scans have a large margin of error. Hope that everything goes smoothly for you and the specialist has some good insight!!
