Our appointment was an hr and half alot of tests and the back history and were u want to give birth then they book ur first scan for u x
@Katie my midwife wouldn't see me until I was 8weeks .. have u contacted ur doctors about an appointment?
I think it depends where you’re from, I just had mine at 7.5 weeks and it was the tests people have mentioned and family history, but no folders or anything to take away and they didn’t book my scan for me I’m still waiting to hear about that. She went through what to expect over the pregnancy in terms of appointments and how often I can expect to see her and what will happen at those appointments 😊 xx
I had mine at 5 weeks and it was around 1 hour. I had to do a urine sample while I was there and they gave me a blood test form for antenatal bloods to be done before 10 weeks. A lot of it was just questions about family history, I also got given my maternity exemption certificate via email so I can get my free dental and free prescriptions. And my midwife has booked me in again for 16 weeks. She also told me at 16 weeks I can come in every week if I wanted to hear the heartbeat if it helps reassure me which I thought was lovely so might be worth asking if yours does that too xx
Mine was around 2h long but only as the wait for the blood tests was super long. They check your medical history and ask if you have any questions
I have mine on Monday as well, I’ll be just over 9 weeks. All I know is they’re going to ask us questions about personal & family medical history on both mine and my partners side, they’ve also said they’ll be doing blood tests (Covered in tattoos but hate needles so that’ll be fun🤢😂)
They will take all your family history ask you loads of questions. Take bloods to check your iron, gestational diabetes etc. and book in your 12 week scan and your next 16 week appointment. They also give you all the documents like the nhs exemption certificate, growth chart for baby x
I think all appointments aren’t the same depending where you live. I’ve had mine this morning at 9+2. She came to my house, went through all the history, had bloods, urine sample, referral for glucose monitoring done, obs checked. She didn’t give me any paperwork like the exemption certificate. Booked my next appointment with her at 16 weeks x
I had mine Monday last week, lasted about an hour and we did family history and bloods. I did a pre screening questionnaire before so we went through those answers too. At the end we arranged the date for the next appointment and a referral was sent for the 12 week one. I got the 12’week confirmation later that day - super quick!
Had mine at 8+6weeks it was 1.5hrs. Spoke about my previous pregnancy and birth, where I’d like to give birth this time round And said I had to fill out a history form on an app and that we would be given paper copies of anything. She took a blood sample and urine sample. Later in the day I received an email saying I had a 12wk scan booked.
@Katie I’ve been waiting 3.5 weeks for it! I got my appointment at 6.5 weeks c
