Teething

Hi all, my EBF bub is 5 months old next week and today I just found out his 2 bottom middle teeth are emerging. He has been miserable for the last couple days, no fever but he refuses BF, only feed 1-2 times during the day and extremely hard to wind him down for sleeping. Any tips on how to help him feel better and what should I do to make sure he is not starving himself? I am engorged because he doesn’t want to feed.

One thing I tried when my son started teething, was putting water in a baby bottle (you can use a dummy instead) and freezing it, then letting him chew on it, the coldness soothed his gums and the water helped hydrate him. But you might be able to pump and freeze your breast milk instead of water

Teething toys. Preferably cold, so put them in the fridge or freezer for a while, calpol, nurofen, and Ashton & Parsons teething powder are all good for the pain. Can't really help with the milk thing, though, sorry.

Agree with above and You can freeze your breast milk and let him chew on that.

Breastmilk popsicles!! This saved me with my boy, nice and cold and they still get nutrients. They also make oragel swabs for babies that help make things easier and teething tablets too!

Also maybe try syringe feeding? I had to for a little bit when my son got his first teeth because he got really fussy latching

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will try them out and see what works for bub ❤️
