Regretting becoming SAHM

(22 yo) After having my daughter me and my fiancé decided I would stay at home while he works. At first I was excited and I really wanted to. However as time has passed (6 months) I’m beginning to have regrets. I feel trapped in our place all day ( I don’t have a car at the moment and he works 11 am to 8 pm m-f sometimes Saturday ) I have zero friends that live around me as I’ve moved recently. I need to be social again. I feel so isolated. My batteries need recharged. It almost makes me feel like I don’t like being a mom. And that’s not the case btw. Please help. Thanks for reading!

I did it for 6 months and it’s tough…you can go for a walk around your neighborhood with the baby. It can help you get out of the house and get some sunlight, better than staying at home. I know it sucks but it’ll pay off…I am now the one that is working outside of home and hubby is staying with both kids at home and doing some side work, he is exhausted most of the time. But at least we know that the kids are being well taken care of.

Thats how i was feeling! Until i started earning some money on the side i felt like i got a piece of me back without giving up the joy of being a sahm. But if money is tight its not enjoyable. Were looking for part time work from home if anyone wants to change the dependency aspect. Good luck mama

So normal to me already I’ve been isolated for a long time I’m kinda accepting my reality. It’s super hard and depressing at the same time. But sometimes try to make it fun for my baby!

@Joss it goes in waves right. I eventually just started going out on public transit prior to getting a second car. Its worth it even if its rare its nice to be out and see and talk to other people.

@Patsy I wish we have public transportation this area.. the only thing to get around is by car everything is so spread out unfortunately. So I’m sucking in

Oh man im so sorry to hear that when i was getting around i was living downtown where its super accessible and where i live now is super rural and my car was down for 2 months it was hell!!! I know how you feel.

@Patsy are you working from home now?

I was the same. But started working remote recently. I work 8pm-4am. Basically I start after husband gets home from work. I go out for 2-3 hour walks in the morning with the stroller. Just to get some sort of Social experience.

Its the best!!!

@Mandy what do you for work?
