Slow heartbeat and tiny CRL

I had an early private scan at 8w and it shows very slow heartbeat and a tiny fetus at 3.8 mm CRL. I was referred to the EPU and the scan showed it’s still the same at 9w with a slightly larger gestational sac. They said they can’t do anything as long as there’s heartbeat as it would be considered as termination. I’m just painfully waiting in limbo for an inevitable miscarriage:/ Anyone had a similar experience?

I had a pregnancy that measured smaller than I had expected with slow fetal heartbeat & it did end up being a miscarriage, the repeat scans & waiting to see progress was the worst. I felt something wasn't right so couldn't enjoy the fact I was still pregnant at all just constantly worried. I did hear some cases where the heartbeat picked up & baby was fine. Unless someone tells you the baby hasn't got a heartbeat anymore you are still pregnant. Sorry your going through this x

@Emma hey, thanks for sharing your experience. How long did it take from the time you found out till you miscarried? My private scan was done by a gynaecologist and she was almost certain it’s not going to continue because the yolk sac is growing at a very different rate to the embryo. I have accepted the fact that it won’t continue as hard as that can be as you know but it’s just the waiting and the uncertainty is unsettling and upsetting. The gestational sac is still growing and I think so is my bump. I show super early (this is my second pregnancy) and it’s just awkward to start looking pregnant around others while knowing it’s just a matter of time

I also had the same and unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. I had a scan mid December which showed a slow fetal heart rate and then a week later they confirmed miscarriage. But I think I knew because my symptoms had slowly started to fade in that week

My body never passed the tissue on its own, medical management failed with both my miscarriages so I felt there was no other option but surgery. It was over a month from finding out something was wrong to passing the fetus & removing what was left of retained pregnancy tissue. All pregnancys are different but if it does turn into a miscarriage I hope it is swift for your sake xx

I will opt for surgery if I get the chance. Have a scan on Thursday to see if there’s still heartbeat.

So I’ve had the scan today and there was no heartbeat. I’m booked for surgery on Monday and it’s MVA (vacuuming method). They don’t do D&C anymore around here apparently and vacuuming does sound gentler.
