We have a side ways spoon turner here and then kind of smushes... it goes everywhere but hes finally putting some of it in. I try to correct him as he holds the spoon in the air at an angle if you try to put anything on it 😂 We didnt do purees so its harder getting him to eat anything like that but prunes to the rescue 😅😅
We had this issue until I found small length spoons (munchkin were too long). Once he got the hang of that we went back to whatever spoon was available x
I made the mistake of loading some mash on to his spoon for him last night and handing it him.. he catapulted it across the room 🥲
He's improved massively over the last week or so and it took us by surprise, I think it's nursery. But otherwise food does just end up everywhere 😄. It's fun to let them practise though so I don't mind the mess x
For us it was slowing down meal time, giving thick foods that he could either feed himself with his hands or a spoon, giving lots and lots of pre loaded spoons for him to practice with and just letting the mess happen! Ours is the exact same, not a chance of him letting us help🤣 it’s still not perfect, he still struggles with loading a spoon but is finally getting it into his mouth!
