I am nervous about brushing it off during her bath time because she has a soft spot there still... Will it go by itself?

It will go. It's just aesthetic too nothing wrong with leaving it.
I just put coconut oil and breast milk on my baby’s head gets rid of it no need to brush it just wash hair with a flannel x
I second coconut oil! A dream for ditching dry skin!
I used Neil’s Yard Remedies baby massage oil (put quite a bit after bath) left it on and gently removed some cradle cap. Left skin smooth and clean. https://amzn.eu/d/71DWNEB
