Still putting everything in mouth, autism and adhd concerns

My toddler is still putting everything in her mouth and she tends to chew on her fingers a lot. Is this normal at this age or should they have outgrown this by now? She’s exhibiting some concerning behaviours like shrugging her shoulders becoming irritable and sleepy during the day. She’s not sleeping through the night and wakes up frequently. I’m not really sure what’s normal and what’s not at this age. I know autism and adhd can’t be diagnosed until a bit later but I can’t help but think she’s starting to display some of the behaviours. She’s fine otherwise and development seems normal. She usually plays and I haven’t had any concerns from nursery so I’m not sure I’m just overthinking things. She is quite hyper at times but again not sure if this is just normal toddler behaviour. Don’t know what I’m getting at here but just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat?

It’s hard because I don’t know what other concerns you have but that sounds relatively normal to me? I’ve seen a lot of people say their toddlers didn’t stop putting stuff in their mouths until over 2! Can I ask what’s the problem with shrugging shoulders? Also my son has bouts of being irritable and more sleepy in the day, he’s definitely testing boundaries and finding his emotions and a lot of it is so very unpleasant lol but I do think that’s age appropriate. & again my son is the same with randomly going hyper sometimes, typically before bed haha seems like he gets a second wind of energy! If you have concerns I’d talk to someone but from what you’ve described, it sounds all usual ❤️

I’ve had concerns about my LO always putting stuff in her mouth as she often gets sick with viruses and really suffers. Looked it up, they actually mention that it can heighten around this time. As for other issues, I agree with above. Toddlers are finding their voice/character and expressing their likes and dislikes unlike before when they just cried. Either way, you’re not alone in having concerns

Awwwh thanks for the reassurance! I’m concerned about the shoulder shrugging being tics I’m just going to keep an eye on it and see how she gets on. Thanks again guys much appreciated! Xxx

The things you’ve said sound normal to me, my little girl will bite the end off felt tips and crayons and is very hyper sometimes. She also wakes up a lot in the night, I don’t think these are things to worry about but I could be wrong! X

Just seen your comment about tics- my little girl does do a few strange movements similar which I think may be stims but I think they’re normal for toddlers, trying not to worry too much x
