Vaccines

Hey, just wondered who has vaccinated their child/ren and why they’ve chose to do it?

It's safe and protects them against preventable diseases and protects others against them too.

I chose to do it as the majority of the vaccines they offer are ones that I also got myself. I looked into them and weighed up the pros and cons, and made the choice I was happy with. Knowing they’re protected against preventable diseases and their more serious complications did it for me, I would have never forgiven myself if she’d got the measles and had serious problems/died because of a lack of a free safe jab that’s offered to everyone. I trust the science.

@Reena if it protects them against said diseases how come they still get them? No hate just in 2 minds xx

Protection doesn't just mean stopping the disease it also means protection from death and the adverse effects of the disease. When they have antibodies for example to whooping cough or RSV then if they contract it they may not end up in hospital needing oxygen if they get it. The same way the covid vaccine didn't stop people from getting it but it stopped many people from dying or ending up in hospital on ventilators.

I vaccinated my child and have received all of the same vaccines myself. I understand the science behind vaccines and also trust the medical experts. I would do anything to protect my child from life threatening diseases and do whatever I can to also protect those who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons. Additionally, where I live you cannot go to public licensed daycares or public school without those vaccinations. Vaccines are safe and effective. If you need actual information, speak to your health care representative

My Daughter is completely up to date with all of them. Shes 3 next week so she has another lot coming up ready for her nursery year in September. They don’t 100% protect your child from all these diseases they can still catch them but it helps them to fight them better if they do catch any of them and it stops them from becoming potentially life threatening(I’m aware not in all cases, that’s very rare cases) but majority of the time it has a massive help against them. I’m very thankful but child is relatively healthy. She’s got Asthma & Ezcma but that’s inherited from me. As a child she’s has flu & colds and only major thing is COVID and she spent a night in hospital being monitored very closely as she was only a baby and very poorly but other than that I’m glad I did because i like to think it’s helped prevent serious illnesses. I believe it helps to an extent.
