I’m struggling with portions etc too! My girl is almost 10 months. And it’s a battle to get her to eat food. She will often have one egg as a muffin with veggies, or some sort of breakfast food. Maybe will eat half but will always POLISH off a natural yogurt lol! And has as much as I can get her to eat of her lunch and dinner. But she still breastfeeds to sleep so has a fair amount of milk still xxx
@jodie Do you have a schedule? I’m still struggling with the every 2 hour feed throughout the night. I give him one snack and dinner tho plus milk throughout the day.
I don’t know if it’s because of teething or introducing more food at meal times, but my baby boy is having like 5oz in the morning, 3oz at lunchtime then 8oz of milk at bed. But will eat all his food, and this is with milk offered first, he’s proper gone off his milks😅
Honestly my little boy i swear will just eat or drink whatever i put in front of him so im concerned I’m over feeding him! he has a small breakfast one egg for example then lunch he generally just grazes like a tortilla wrap some veggie sticks some fruit or a yogurt. Dinner he’ll have a small bowl of whatever we have but will still happily drink 3 bottles during the day and then wake up in the night and not settle without a bottle, all at around 6oz! x
7:30 8oz 8:30 breakfast 10:30 snack 1:00 lunch 3:00 snack 5:30 dinner 7:30 8oz
@Gabby I started sleep traing with advice from a trainer it’s about breaking habits and ensuring they get enough throughout the day I was advised to feed, put him in a sleep sack and blackout the room when he wakes reassure but don’t pick up (now in own room in cot) It’s hard but …. Stick to 5 min rule If he/she cry’s and stops just reassure Everytime they stop crying restart the timer If it’s a constant cry over 5 mins pick up till calms down then place back down What I did I pumped for peace of mind before bed gave a 8oz bottle and put to bed in blacked out room then followed the 5 min rule He woke once and after crying for 15 in total he slept through with one feed and has been for last 3 weeks From 7-2am then after feed sleeps til 8 am x
My son is breast fed so he still nurse 5-7 times a day (1-3 at night). Has 3 solid meals and usually 1 or 2 snack times! He’s pretty big for his age (23 lbs 31 inches) and loves to eat!
We My baby is breastfed on demand. They co sleep and feed in bed and sometimes wake and need feeding/resettling in the rocking chair. Breakfasts tend be, coconut yogurt with hemp/chia/flax/sunflower/pumpkin seeds/walnuts etc mixed in or some not butter. Toast with avocado, hummus, mashed beans or nut butter or chickpea omeltte or tofu scramble. . I offer oatmeal and quinoa flakes with mashed fruit etc but so far they prefer savoury so I add turmeric, ginger etc Lunch is often leftovers, or vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, beans, pumpkin, zucchini, cucumber) and some protein (tofu, tempeh , beans etc) Dinner is whatever we have, but any form of curry (Dahl, aloo Gobi, massaman, thai green etc) with rice/quinoa is by far their fav. We also serve pasta (often lentil or chickpea for the nutrional boost) or soup, pad thai or other rice noodles, dedconsturcted burritos etc. When we go out, i bring veggies or fruit or make muffins because when they see other kids eat, they always want to eat too. 😅
Currently under investigation for dairy intolerance so cut out all the milk/cheese that she used to have. 8oz bottle at 7 when she wakes Breakfast 8:30/9 - either porridge with fruit mashed in, 1 weetabix with a banana mashed in (she eats half), 1 slice of toast cut into bite size pieces with mashed fruit or banana and blueberry pancakes Bottle 11/11:30 but she’s not drinking the full 8oz some days Lunch 1 - if we’re out it will be a pouch and melty sticks, sometimes she’ll have a dairy free yoghurt with fruit, finely chopped courgette and shredded chicken or minced beef, scrambled eggs with spinach, I would’ve usually given her grated cheese then as well. Dinner 3:45 - a lot of the time she has a jar for dinner with extra broccoli or cauliflower mashed up purely because it’s quick and easy at our most chaotic time of day. Bottle 8oz before bed around 5:45
My girl will be 9 months soon, and she currently has 2 solid meals a day and 4 bottles (6 floz) in a 24hr period. I'm going to be upping her to 3 meals around 9/10 months. We do alot of BLW, so she doesn't eat loads, but she's definitely eating more than she drops now!
@jodie ah I see ok, thank you!!! Our LO still sleeps in our bed, so I’ll start moving him to his own.
Currently breast feeding have started sleep training so down to 1 feed per night after feeding every 2 hrs Breakfast Dinner 2 snacks Milk on demand throughout day he also loves coconut water 💙
